As the world showed glimpses of normalization in August 2021, Pokemon TCG enthusiasts were on a hunt for some legendary sparkles in the Evolving Skies expansion. With its release, it’s no surprise that Evolving Skies booster boxes and related products have become highly sought after. With cards that have become legendary in a short span, this expansion offers a wide array of choices. But which ones shine the brightest? Let’s delve into the best cards from Evolving Skies!

5. Sylveon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $149

Card Number: 212 | Rarity: Secret Rare | Pull Rate: 1 in 972 packs

The number 4 position has been taken over by the beautiful Sylveon VMAX Alt Art, which, just like the Glaceon, has a fantastic illustration on it.

The card also features an Eevee along with other Pokemon in the background. This only enhances the beauty of the Pokemon on the card, which is reflected in the price, with the card selling for over $150 on many reseller markets!

4. Glaceon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $150

We start our list with the elegant Glaceon VMAX Alt Art, which, I’m sure you can agree just looks fantastic. The alternate art versions of most cards nowadays often have phenomenal illustrations, and this Glaceon is no exception.

3. Leafeon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $160 to $300

Card Number: 205 | Rarity: Secret Rare | 1 in 1296 packs

The 3rd spot features yet another Eeveelution. This time, it’s the grass type Leafeon which, is commonly discussed, as having the best illustration in the entire expansion.

The Leafeon can be seen playing with Hay Bales, adding a tonne of personality to the card, which is loved by collectors. As it is an Alternate Art Secret Rare card, it is tough to pull with a pull rate of around 1/283 and as such is one of the most coveted cards from Pokemon Evolving Skies and all the expansions released in 2021!. Its current value? North of $155 ungraded, with mint grades selling for nearer $300!

2. Rayquaza VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – $340 to $500

Card Number: 218 | Rarity: Secret Rare | Pull Rate: 1 in 2333 packs

On the runner-up spot, we have Rayquaza (finally a Pokemon that doesn’t evolve from an Eevee) VMAX Alternate Art Secret Rare, sold for around $250 on many different sites and up to $500 for a mint grade.

Some see it as a crazy price for a card that was released just last year, but that’s just the effect top-notch art can have on this community.

Topping our Evolving Skies Top Cards list is the Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art Secret Rare, which could easily be one of the most iconic cards in recent Pokemon sets. Its escalating value only signifies the unwavering demand for the Evolving Skies series.

Umbreon has been the most coveted card since the expansion’s release, with its release leaving fans drooling over their booster packs in the hopes of pulling one of these cards. It’s clear to see why; the illustration is top tier and might be one of the most iconic to come from a modern Pokemon set. This card’s value will probably continue to rise as the demand for Evolving Skies continues.

Evolving Skies introduced a ton of great cards to the TCG, especially the Eeveelution cards which obviously featured heavily. Making a top 5 for this expansion was as tough as it gets, featuring 10-20 chase cards depending on your taste.
